Wizz Air opens a new route from Katowice to Ålesund, Norway
A new route is available to Scandinavia
On Monday, 16 September, 2019 Wizz Air commenced a new route from Katowice Airport to the Norwegian Ålesund. Currently, the all-year route is available twice a week: on Mondays and Fridays.
Ålesund is the sixth route to Scandinavia offered by Katowice Airport. Wizz Air also flies from Katowice Airport to Bergen, Oslo-Torp, Malmö-Sturup, Stockholm Skavsta and Stavanger.
More than 290 thousand people – approximately 6% of all passengers served during 2018 – used the Scandinavian routes to travel from and to Katowice Airport. An increase in the number of passengers travelling to Sweden and Norway is expected to occur in 2020. It will be the result of the extension of the Scandinavian network, which will coincide with the “Winter 2019/2020” schedule, during which Ryanair will introduce two routes which will be available throughout the year, namely: Oslo-Torp and Göteborg.
