In August 2017, Katowice Airport handled 546 333 passengers overall. This is 105 329 passengers more (+23.9%) than in the corresponding month last year. It is the best monthly result in the airport's history.

In terms of charter traffic to/from Pyrzowice, the airport handled a record-breaking 299 080 passengers, which is 72 947 more (+32.3%) in comparison to the previous August. Significant growth was also recorded in regular traffic, which also achieved a record-breaking result of 246 400 passengers handled in August. This translates to 31 757 more (+14.8%) in comparison to the previous August. In addition, Friday 11 August saw the previous record of the largest number of passengers handled in a 24-hour period, topple. On that day, Katowice Airport handled 19 396 passengers.

From the beginning of the year, Katowice Airport has handled a total of 2 650 333 passengers, which is 441 384 more (+20%) in comparison to the time period from the beginning of January to the end of August the previous year. In the first eight months of this year, Katowice Airport handled 1 604 209 passengers in regular traffic, which shows an increase of 178 159 (+12.5%), and 1 039 328 in charter traffic, which is 262 480 more (+33.8%) in comparison to the previous year's results.
