Passenger traffic results in March 2017 were the best March results in Katowice Airport's history. Overall, the airport handled 207 142 passengers, which was 21 704 more (+11.4%) in comparison to March 2016.  Growth was recorded in both regularly-scheduled and charter traffic. In comparison to March 2016, this year, the airport handled 174 110 passengers in regular traffic, which translates to 14 319 more (+8.9%). In terms or charter traffic, Katowice Airport handled 32 677 passengers - 7 776 more (+32%).

Results for the first quarter of the year are also pleasing. Overall, 570 134 passengers travelled to and from Katowice Airport, which is 50 087 more (+9.6%) in comparison to the first three months of the previous year. With regards to regularly-scheduled services, Katowice Airport handled 479 781 more passengers, which translates to 33 760 more (+7.6%) than in the first quarter of 2016. Growth was also noted in charter traffic. The first quarter of the year saw 86 953 passengers use Katowice Airport, which is 16 752 more (+23.9%) than in the first quarter of 2016.
