Between January and the end of September 2025, the cargo terminal at Katowice Airport handled 32,554 tonnes of freight, i.e., 5,730 tonnes more (+21.4%) than in the same time last year. The result for the first nine months of 2025 is the best one in the airport’s history; 2,080 tonnes of cargo more were noted in comparison with the same time in 2022, when record-breaking 30,474 tonnes were noted.

Air cargo is one of the most important areas of traffic at Katowice Airport. Among others, the following companies have established branches in Pyrzowice: DHL Express, UPS and FedEx. Since October 2024, all-cargo flights are realized to Katowice Airport from Ürümqi (China); in April 2025, Lufthansa Cargo commenced scheduled all-cargo flights on the Frankfurt – Katowice – Frankfurt route. Katowice Airport is the only airport in Poland from which the carrier handles regular cargo flights. Additionally, Lufthansa Cargo operates a road feeder service (RFS) freight consolidation facility in the airport's cargo terminal; it is based on transport of goods between airports via trucks. Each RFS operation is treated like a flight; every truck is assigned a flight number.
