On 4 December 2023 (Monday), Wizz Air handled, on the flight from Katowice Airport to Barcelona, the 100 millionth passengers since its debut on the Polish market, which took place in May 2004.

Katowice Airport is the first base airport in the history of Wizz Air, as well as the place where the carrier the first commercial flight in its history; on 19 May 2004 the airline's Airbus A320 handled the flight to London-Luton. In nearly 20 years, Wizz Air handled 25 million passengers on routes to/from Katowice Airport.
