August 2026 was the best month in the airport’s history, with the one-million-passenger threshold for a calendar month exceeded for the second time. The summer holiday season was also record-breaking. Almost 2.1 million passengers travelled through Katowice Airport in July and August.

Last month, 1,067,344 passengers used the route network at Katowice Airport, 88,441 more (+9%) than in the same period last year. The number of aircraft movements also increased: there were 6,861 take-offs and landings last month, 269 more (+4.1%) than in the same period a year earlier.

The combined traffic figures for July and August clearly show that summer 2026 was the best in the history of Katowice Airport. A total of 2,097,357 passengers were handled, 159,277 (+8.2%) more than during last year’s summer holidays. Aircraft made as many as 13,556 take-offs and landings in July and August.

More than 5.3 million passengers have used the airport’s route network between January and August, 373,000 more than during the same period last year.
