Lufthansa Cargo Launches Cargo Flights to/from Katowice Airport
Airport gains new cargo route
On 3 April 2025 (Thursday), Lufthansa Cargo launched all-cargo flights on the Frankfurt – Katowice Airport – Frankfurt route. The connection is handled with an Airbus A321F (Freighter). The route is available twice a week, i.e. on Thursdays and Saturdays. Katowice Airport is the first airport in Poland to which Lufthansa Cargo handles cargo flights.
The new cargo route is a premium service w hich expands the available Lufthansa Cargo offer at Katowice Airport and, consequently, in Poland. In January 2021, Lufthansa Cargo launched a Road Feeder Service (RFS) freight consolidation facility for Poland in the KTW cargo terminal; it is based on transport of freight between airports by using trucks. RFS trucks are considered air transport, as each transport is assigned a flight number.
