Beginning June 17, 2020, international passenger flights will be consequently restored at Katowice Airport
From June 17, 2020, passenger flights on selected routes are systematically restored at Katowice Airport. Wizz Air handled its first flights on June 17, 2020 (Wednesday). Ryanair will resume flights from Katowice Airport on July 1, 2020 (Wednesday), while LOT Polish Airlines in the middle of July. Lufthansa will resume its operations at Katowice Airport on September 1, 2020 (Tuesday). First charter flights from Katowice Airport with passengers from travel agencies will be handled at the beginning of July. Warning: dates when certain routes will be restored may change.
Handling of passenger traffic at Katowice Airport is conducted in accordance with new sanitary regulations specified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Civil Aviation Authority and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed, on the basis of an audit performed on May 26-29, 2020, that Katowice Airport is prepared and ready to handle passenger traffic in accordance to the new sanitary regulations.
