Summary of the first nine months of 2021
From January to the end of September, 1 730 812 passengers, i.e. 447 657 more (+34.9%) in comparison with the same time period in 2020, were handled at Katowice Airport.
Air carriers who handle regular routes (Wizz Air, Ryanair, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa) served 628 677 persons, i.e. 225 007 fewer (-30.4%) in comparison with the first nine months of 2020. In the area of charter flights handled for travel agencies, 1 094 393 travellers, 731 749 more (+201.8%) than last year, were noted.
During the first nine months of 2021, 20 651 take-offs and landings, i.e. 2 963 more (+16.7%) than last year, took place at Katowice Airport.
From January to the end of September, 22 627 tonnes of freight, i.e. 8 189 tonnes more (+56.7%) than during the first nine months of 2020, were handled at the cargo terminal in Katowice Airport. Cargo aircraft performed 3 138 take-offs and landings during that time, i.e. 939 more (+42.7%) than last year.
