2009-12-16Wizz Air - Fifth aircraft, new routes

Low-cost airline, Wizz Air, has today announced that its base at Katowice Airport in Pyrzowice will be expanded by one more (fifth overall) Airbus A320 aircraft. Wizz Air has also announced the launch of four new routes from Katowice Airport towards the end of the first quarter and at the beginning of the second quarter of 2010.

  • Bergen (BGO)
    Inaugural flight: 28 March 2010
    Flights will take place twice a week - Wednesdays and Sundays
  • Pisa (PSA)
    Inaugural flight: 29 March 2010
    Flights will take place twice a week - Mondays and Fridays
  • Hamburg/Lübeck (LBC)
    Inaugural flight: 30 March 2010
    Flights will take place three times a week - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
  • Madrid (MAD)
    Inaugural flight: 30 March 2010
    Flights will take place three times a week - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

In 2008 Wizz Air transported almost 1.4 million passengers to and from Katowice Airport.
