2006-09-14The millionth passenger at Katowice International Airport

We have got the millionth passenger at Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice today. It's Ella Schlothauer - entrepreneur from Germany. Last year a millionth passenger was Monika Bujak - owner of restaurant from Chorzow. Comparing this and last year, the event took place 2 months earlier.

We can say we'll break next record. In 2005 we served 1.092.385 passenger. As show statistics 118 thousand passengers are serving per month (about 4 thousand passengers per day). At present we can forecast that it will be less or more than 1.400.000 passengers in 2006.

According to tradition a millionth passenger got a lot of privileges addressed to VIP at Katowice Airport. Ella Schlothauer received "The Millionth Passenger Card" entitling to: enter the Business Lounges at Katowice Airport free of charge, use car park free of charge and discounts at airport restaurant, "Baltona" stores and "Awos" car rental. Additionally she was handed a book about history of aviation at Silesia, published on the occasion of GTL 15th Anniversary. Millionth passenger got also from Lufthansa a ticket for any European route.
