2011-11-03Ryanair inaugurated flights to Manchester

Yesterday, 2 November, Ryanair inaugurated a new route from Katowice Airport. Flights to Manchester will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Passengers of this inaugural flight from Pyrzowice were invited to celebrate with a piece of cake in the shape of Manchester United's stadium and a small token gift. Katarzyna Gaborec, Ryanair's Director of Sales and Marketing for Eastern Europe said: We are very pleased to witness the take-off of this inaugural flight from Katowice to Manchester. This is a very special time for Ryanair in Katowice as on 1 November we celebrated the 4th anniversary of flights to and from Silesia and the inaugural flight to Bristol. Ryanair now offers 5 destinations in the winter season from the airport in Pyrzowice. This means that throughout the winter season, people in Silesia will be able to make the most of Ryanair's fantastic cheap airfares to 4 destinations in England: London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol, as well as Dublin in Ireland. In 2012, Ryanair plans to transport 260 000 passengers from Katowice Airport.
