2011-03-0620th anniversary of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group

20 years ago, on the 6th march 1991, the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL), which manages Katowice Airport in Pyrzowice, was officially entered into the Commercial Register. The Group's statutory objectives include undertaking activities to prepare and execute passenger and cargo air transport, aviation and related services. This is also the reason for which the Group initiates projects such as construction, development and modernisation of Katowice Airport, as well as its use. The Upper Silesian Aviation Group has been managing Katowice Airport since May 1994. In that year, 12 457 passengers used the airport - in 2010, that was the average number of passengers to use the airport on a summer's day. Today, under the management of the GTL, Katowice Airport is the leader amongst all Polish regional airports in terms of charter passenger transport and air freight. In 2010, 2.4 million passengers used Katowice Airport and over 11 000 tons of freight were transported through the airport. We hope you enjoy the exhibition of archived photos spanning two decades. The gallery is available here.
